I’m tired of the supposed-to’s
And cookie-cutter molds
Frustrated with the should-have-beens
The too-youngs, and too-olds
I’m tired of the constant striving
And opinions shared that are always implying
That I’m more of an exception or just barely called
Women are, after all,
At the root of the fall!
Enough is enough of the shameful, finger-pointing
Satan’s having a hay day, and the Body’s disjointing
The eyes blame the feet
The mouth never stops
The hands can’t find rest
Knees are ready to drop
For so long, we’ve looked to our own golden calf
Half man and half God, we’ve valued the chaff
Under the headship of this two-headed beast
We’ve bartered our salt for the Pharisee’s yeast
A little this, a little that, we’re double-minded and tossed
Mixing the gold right back in with the enemy’s dross
How is it now, some 2,000 years later
We still look to Adam when we’ve been given a Savior?
Shaking the Bible like it’s a magic 8 ball,
We’ve silenced half the church in the name of Saint Paul
There we go again with our shameful blaming,
Fighting thorn and thistle when we could all be praying
There’s a famine of the Word, and it’s being called light
We’ve neglected real faith. We’ve been walking by sight
I’m burdened with a vision of a unified Church
I call forth the breakers. God’s eyes search the earth
He’s looking for the lowly, the lovers, the few
To love mercy and justice, those faithful and true
We’re to break through the depths of hard, cold, and icy
With praise-fueled passion, led by our Almighty
All for one, one for all, let us not forget
We’re on the same side. Our lamps are lit
No looking back, no turning around
We’ve already lost too much ground
It’s time to take back what the enemy’s stolen,
With repentance & surrender, stones will be rolling
Too many have died as a result of our division
Kingdoms are falling in this end-time collision
Heaven’s coming to earth, for our King has come
For all of the people, not just for some
The harvest is here, the ploughshares are ready,
Eyes set like flint, Lord, keep our hearts steady
The Word burns in my heart to set people free
Where else could I go, Lord?
Here I am, send me
